The Mountain

I have always been afraid of heights. I decided that I was going to conquer a mountain climb that I couldn’t complete a few years prior. I already caught onto the idea that climbing a mountain was not going to kill me, however, when I started all full of I can do this and I’m going to do this I was met with the first obstacle. That obstacle was a very steep climb and I got scared. I’m not so much scared of climbing but scared of falling to my death. That would explain pretty much all my fear. As I sat on a rock trying to figure out what am I going to do now. I want to do this, I just need somebody in front of me guiding me up there. Along came a couple who let me tag behind them, because if they can do it I can too!! I not only climbed up that mountain but I went further than I imagined I would. We always need to see somebody succeeding in front of us to help us find our way. We all need each other is what I learned from this. I also learned that I was still scared when I got to the top of Y Mountain in Provo, Utah but I was still alive….face your fears, find your voice and you will find out what you are capable of.

The people that helped me, and the view from the top!!!
