I never really aspire to be anything more than I am. I kind of think of myself like these flowers that beautify the world but do not require much attention. I don’t seek praise, I just seek to make others happy by sharing what I know or what I have learned. Or giving hope to those that have none. Mostly because anything I am or hope to become is in the Lords’ hands anyway. His blessings are what I am after. Notice how the flowers work with all the others that are around to create a beautiful bouquet. That is what life is about. When one feels low and dejected, rejected, hurt or afraid the other comes to uplift, support and encourage. The world would have us think that we are important and we are deserving of adulation or monetary benefit. Yes, money is nice and pays the bills but it really is not that important and comes with a whole host of other issues. How many lives have been destroyed by a person who ends up with a lot of money only to find that family or friends will still take from them? Or that they have all the finer things in life but yet they still lack something inside. We are not on this planet to serve only ourselves. To obtain that which has no lasting value. We are our relationships with others, not with things. Any worldly praise we gather is our reward here. Any item that we buy here is our reward here. Any earthly recognition we get smears easily when held up against how much we shared to lift the burden of others if we had the money or power to give. If we had it and didn’t give it and thought only of ourselves than we are nothing. The flowers will come back year after year to beautify or to help another on their way, that is what is real. That is what matters!!!
