There have been many Goliaths in my life. I have not always become the David in the story either. Sometimes because of been so intimidated and just out right scared I have backed down. Really this is about fear. I don’t know about David, I think he is kind of crazy because he stood up to a 7ft giant and that is very impressive. He not only looked fear in its face, he challenged it with one shot!!! He had to get it right otherwise Goliath would just snatch him up and kill him. That is a very real physical danger. Unlike today’s world where we are mostly scared from our own shadows. The antidote for fear is a prayer of faith and trusting that whatever happens that it was meant to be that way. I think that is probably the hardest thing to do, however, that is what creates the David within us to rise up and hit that Goliath in the one spot that would take him out. Not all Goliaths go away that easy. Sometimes we have to face those fears each and every day but when we do it becomes easier to get through. Heavenly Father is always there for us regardless of how or when we choose to battle our Goliath or not. He knows us, he understands us, he loves us. Maybe David wasn’t so crazy, maybe David prayed for the strength and courage to do it, we can too!
