We all have our moments right? I know I have trouble with obsessive thoughts, you know where you go to worse case scenario mode. Yea, that is all the fear, doubt and discouragement for a lifetime in there. First you start with a doubt, then it induces the fear and before you know it you are so discouraged you don’t even want to get out of bed or face your day. Been there lived it. There is nothing worse than when you look at all of those overwhelming obstacles that are in front of you and think you can’t do it. Interestingly enough you can’t do it, not by yourself anyway. It takes a whole lot of trust to reach out and say help me. I have found that there are a lot of people out there that life their lives in the half drowned state, I know I used to be one. Where you get up and go and do but really its more like you are just existing and not really enjoying it. I found out that the only way to really enjoy life is to be fully awake for it and deliberately participate in it. Not ho hum, but fully participating. How does that happen. First accept that there are going to be bad times really bad times, but that their is also going to be okay and really good times too. The main component is that you are still in it. The good, the bad, and the ugly all of it. Things didn’t go your way, so what?? I could have been happy if only fill in the blank. That is not life, that is the movies. One thing that looks like it is the movies but isn’t, is that our lifeguard does walk on water and he is there to help us. That alone will bring peace and comfort even when it is dark and scary! When your doubts start to come up, kick them out. Choose what you will think about. Choose to maintain the positive even when it is very negative. Choose to see with an eye of faith, even if your faith is shaken. Choose to see beyond what is in front of you. That is what living by faith is. Faith that you will be okay regardless of what happens. You are not drowning, you are still living and breathing, the experience might make you feel like you are but you are not drowning!! Choose the good thoughts.
